During AnimeJapan 2024 on Sunday, a new trailer for Season 7 of My Hero Academia was unveiled alongside the announcement of its premiere date on May 4. Additionally, the event introduced the forthcoming opening theme song titled “Tagatame” by TK from Ling Tosite Sigure.

Based on the manga of the same title by Kohei Horikoshi, My Hero Academia takes place in a world where most people have unique abilities called “Quirks.” The story revolves around Deku, a young boy without a quirk who dreams of being a superhero.

The TV anime was produced under Bones’ direction and debuted in April 2016. Spring 2024 is when the upcoming seventh season is scheduled to premiere on television.

The announcement for the anime’s seventh season was made on March 25, 2023, the day the sixth season ended. To fill the void, a special collection called My Hero Academia Memories with four newly produced episodes will be released on April 6.

Then, on May 4, the much anticipated new season—which will open with episode 139 of the main anime—is scheduled to debut.

The three anime movies are noteworthy; the most recent was available in theaters in the summer of 2021. Furthermore, a live-action version in the English language, directed by the well-known Shinsuke Sato of Bleach, is in the works.

Expanding its universe, the anime is giving rise to My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: You’re Next (also known as My Hero Academia: You’re Next), marking the franchise’s fourth cinematic installment slated to premiere on August 2. Kohei Horikoshi assumes the roles of general supervisor and original character designer for the film.

Featuring an original narrative, the movie unfolds concurrently with the current timeline of the TV anime, revolving around the breakdown of societal security.

My Hero Academia Season 7 is scheduled to premiere in May, starting with episode 139. The action-packed animation airs on YTV and NTV on Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. (or 4:30 a.m. EDT) for fans to watch.
