Released at the end of the last year, Blue Lock has emerged as one of the most beloved sports anime for 2023. Fans have praised its storyline and character development throughout the season to keep an audience on the edge of their seats. Since Blue Lock season 1 has already been concluded in later March, all eyes were on season 2 of this anime. With this in mind, The confirmation of the second season and an upcoming film for the series was officially announced on March 26. This announcement was made through the official Twitter account and the dedicated webpage.

Leaks regarding Blue Lock Season 2 release date

While no official release date has been confirmed for Blue Lock season 2, a Twitter account known for leaking anime news hinted at a possible 2024 release for both the upcoming film and season 2. The film is expected to arrive in mid or late 2024, with season 2 likely following shortly after, possibly in 2025. The official website and Twitter account have not announced the official release date.


As mentioned earlier, Blue Lock season 1 aired from September 2022 to March 2023, adapting around 90 chapters from the manga’s 11 volumes. With 23 volumes (199 chapters) currently available, there’s sufficient source material for a second season.

Blue Lock Season 2: What to expect?

Blue Lock season one covered only half of the currently available manga source material. Therefore, season two would likely adapt volumes 12-23, revealing further details for impatient fans. In the upcoming season, the core players progress to the Third Selection, where the top 35 participants compete to create an 11-member team and ultimately face off against Japan’s national Under 20 team.
